The Ordinary’s Pycnogenol 5% is perfect for those wanting to enhance skin hydration and elasticity as it binds to collagen and elastin, protecting them from free radical damage and enzymatic degradation. This magical antioxidant also scavenges the skin for free radicals before they cause oxidative stress and has the ability to recycle oxidised Vitamin C, restoring its activity. Pycnogenol® is a natural plant extract derived from the pine bark of French maritime pine trees.

How we use it:

We apply this alone or after water-based serums, before oils or heavier creams. This can alternatively be mixed with other treatments to enhance their antioxidant capacity. Note that The Ordinary Pycnogenol 5% is free of artificial colors and the formula’s deep red color is due to the high procyanidin content in Pycnogenol. After application, we wash hands and avoid product contact with light-coloured fabric as it may stain.
